Busiest airports abroad

The airports outside the US with the most flights to and from the US in any year since 1990, by passengers, flights, destinations or freight. Pick one to see which US airports it flies to and how its routes changed, or browse airports on the map.

These airports are outside the US. The T-100 data only covers flights to or from US airports, so only their flights to and from the US are counted here, not their other routes: each airport's real traffic is bigger, and its ranking here is only its ranking for the US. More on what the data covers.

# Airport City Load factor More detail

The table lists the rows chosen above, ranked by the column you sort by. Load factor is passengers as a share of seats. Destinations counts US airports with at least 24 flights to and from it that year (for all years, in some year), each counted once. A city is a BTS city market (New York is JFK, LaGuardia and Newark): its row adds up its airports, counts each destination once, and opens to list them, with any airport under 2% of the city's flights, passengers and freight added up as "other airports". Freight is in short tons (2,000 lb). Hover over a number for the exact figure. What the columns mean. On the map, routes with fewer than 24 flights a year, both ways, are hidden. More on directions.
