Families group BTS's aircraft types (a 737-300 and a 737-800 are both Boeing 737s). A family's maker and kind are those of its busiest type. The share is of the total for the chosen year, kind and maker. Freight is in short tons (2,000 lb), and includes cargo in the holds of passenger aircraft. More on how things are grouped. Freight before 2003 leaves out most domestic FedEx and UPS flying, so freight figures jump when they appear: see known gaps in the data.
