Airlines that merged are counted together for every year, and a merged airline opens to show the airlines it's made of. Regional airlines flying under a major's name are listed on their own. The share is of the total for the chosen year, flights and routes. Freight is in short tons (2,000 lb). More on how things are grouped. Freight before 2003 leaves out most domestic FedEx and UPS flying, so freight figures jump when they appear: see known gaps in the data.
