How makers are counted
- The maker is read from the aircraft's name in the BTS data. Spelling variants are merged (Beech and Beechcraft, Gulfstream and Gulfstream Aerospace) and obvious typos corrected.
- Takeovers are not followed. McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, Canadair and Bombardier, and Raytheon Beechcraft and Beechcraft, are separate makers. A DC-9 and an MD-11 share a maker; a DC-9 and a 737 do not.
- A few generic float and land aircraft name no maker and are counted as "Unknown maker".

Each bar is one year. The eight biggest makers for the chosen flights are shown, the rest as Other. Freight is in short tons (2,000 lb).
